I will be scuba diving for the very first time which is something I have always wanted to do and can cross it off of my early made bucket list. Perhaps the most nerve-racking part of the trip to me is I am traveling meeting four people whom I have never met before! To add to that is that they are all from foreign countries and honestly I am not the greatest at understanding accents.
What I am getting at through all of that in traveling to Egypt and all that comes with and around it.
http://www.touregypt.net/ offers tips for safety along with a variety of other websites. Some websites say to not advertise that you are American or a tourist in any way.
Would you still travel to one of your most desirable destinations even if it was the middle of a war zone?
I've been thinking about this exact question a lot lately. I've been planning a Eurotrip and had to exclude Egypt and Serbia because of the potential danger... though hopefully only the first couple of trips. And how, in Egypt, do we not advertise that we are tourists? that seems absurd.
ReplyDeleteTraveling with 4 other people, though, I think you should be just fine... safety in numbers.
Wow. What an exciting opportunity! The next step in this post is to dig into the concepts that are underlying this trip to Egypt: fear, traveling, how Americans are viewed in other countries, having a bucket list, taking risks, etc. There is a lot of potential areas for analysis in this post; you need to pick a few and dig in, think critically, make connections, etc.
