My name is Connor Healy and currently in my second year of college, first at GCC, last year I attended ASU. I transferred to GCC because they have the major that I wanted to pursue in the first place and I'm not complaining about the tuition difference either. My interests and hobbies include almost anything and everything that involves the outdoors. My favorites are mountain biking, football, and wiffle ball. Many people respond with, "You play wiffle ball?" Yes, my friend Omar and I, are on our own team and play in tournaments all the time. I also greatly enjoy anything that gives me a pure adrenaline rush such as skydiving. There is nothing quite like looking out the side door of the plane and just thinking to yourself,"Am I really about to do this." For the past year, I have picked up playing the guitar. I do not get to play as often as I would really like, but it keeps me entertained when I do get the chance to work on it. I have been with my girlfriend, Jocelyn, for about a year and a half now. We met last year at ASU, where she still attends and is pursuing a degree in Business Tourism.
I have been employed at gh Package & Product Testing & Consulting of AZ (http://www.ghtesting.com) for the last 7 months. It is a very interesting job and is unlike any other, seeing that we are the only testing lab in AZ, and I am also the only laboratory technician that works there. -->We perform a variety of tests on pretty much anything that can be shipped. We mainly do certifying of hazardous materials that are to be transported, but we will test pretty much anything and everything.
Finally, my goals I hope to obtain while being enrolled at GCC include acquiring my degree in para medicine and become a nationally registered paramedic. I have already achieved the first huge step toward my ultimate goal. Last semester I went through the EMT 104 class to become a nationally registered EMT. I passed my test on January 3rd and have never been more excited than when I found out I was officially a NREMT. I have many family members who are retired or currently firefighters; my dream job is to also become a firefighter. I am a very goal driven person and will never give up on that goal.
